Tutorial- Refashioning a Turtleneck to a Round Collar

She shows simple steps to get boring turtlenecks into round collars. She is amazing! Even I can do it...and I don't sew!

I don't know about you but I just don't like turtlenecks. I feel like its chocking me and it makes my face look fat and makes my double chin come out....maybe I shouldn't told you that....anyway.....let's make a turtleneck into a round collar.

You should try it on....kinda see how high/ low you want your color......take it off....lay it on a flat surface.

Take a piece of chalk and draw on the fabric where you want the collar to be....remember to add the SEAM in your measurements!

Now carefully cut it out with your fabric scissors.

Turn the shirt INSIDE OUT and pin the seam down....do not stretch it just fold it down.

Now sew it...I have a knit here and it is important to let the machine run it through and not to pull or you will have weird ruffles.

Turtleneck to Head band
Cut the neck part of ...nice and even.

Fold it three times....viola!

Any here is my end product....I love layering and this is just perfect!

  2. I feel the same way about turtlenecks and even some high-necked crew necks! I can't stand to have anything touching my neck for an extended period of time, or it'll drive me crazy. :P I love this idea--it looks adorable as a scoop neck top! I also really like the way you finished the neckline.

If you do a refashion you will have to show it on the blog!
