Time Out

Hey Friends,

Just to give you a heads up I will not be posting anything this week. This makes me sad since I love love love blogging but there is a lot going on and I really need to focus on those things this week. I am planning on showing pictures from the wedding I attended next Saturday but until then...Aufwiedersehen (←literal translation is "till I see you again")

If you guys have any ideas or questions for a post I am up for it! I am trying to see if I can't do something special for my first December.... ☺ Any ideas?

Have a wonderful week!

Thanksgiving Pictures & Other Activities

Last Saturday our church celebrated Thanksgiving with lots of guests. We do it every year, over 10 years. We invite Germans to celebrate an American Thanksgiving but before that we preach to them and tell them the gospel: Salvation through Jesus Christ alone.

My friend Erin and I have been working on this song but since its written for four parts we never sang it. When Patrick came we quickly gave him the music and practiced together. We all are very busy and did not get to practice often but we did it anyway...and it turned out good...kinda....some parts are kinda off.

We sang in German of course but its a translation from Higher Ground written by Johnathan Hamilton.

On Tuesday I had to clean in the Christian School and teach piano. There is a lot going on this week and so Patrick came to the school to help me clean after he was done with classes. He was such a great help!!! When you have to clean three classrooms, all the floors and bathrooms...help is GREATLY appreciated! :D

Thursday was THANKSGIVING and what a blessed time it was. So much fun! We had a wonderful turkey dinner and pies for dessert. Afterwards we played Apples to Apples and 1000 Places to See Before you Die-The Game. There was a lot of laughing and fun, fun, fun! After I took a picture of the turkey in the oven my camera had a hard time shooting sharp pictures. The family we celebrated with are professional photographers and I will get more pictures from them later. (I will just add them to this post and tell you when I uploaded them. ☺)

Germans don't do Football....they watch soccer....☺

Patrick's screen did not work shortly after he got here. His new screen came today and he put it on. He was so nervous to mess things up but it worked great on the first try! Proud of my man! ☺

By the time you all read this (except my Australian friends) I will be on a wedding! Yes, one of my class mates is getting married! Though many friends have been getting married in the States I never could be at the wedding. I am really excited! It will be interesting to see what Wedding traditions they have and do since they are Russian-German Baptist.☺

This class mate was probably the closest I was with during my school years. I always tended to be somewhat of an outside/ loner but if there was school projects and I needed someone to hang out with, she was always there! I will have to show pictures next week. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving 2012

Today is a busy day at our house. Here in Germany we don't have the day off so we all are working and/ doing school today  BUT  we are still celebrating!!!! ☺ I think is kinda funny though...my family is German and the family we are celebrating with is German/ Australian but together we will have an American Thanksgiving. I am so looking forward to tonight: the food, the dessert and the fellowship. I might show a few pictures on Saturday!

To close off today's post I thought I would list some of the things I am thankful for. On my personal Facebook I have posted something I am thankful for every day. Here they are:

Day 1- I am thankful for my relationship with Jesus Christ. Not only did he save me from an eternity in hell but continues to guide and comfort me in everyday life.

Day 2- For my awesome boy friend, Patrick. I am really enjoying spending time with him & seeing him every day without counting the days when we will be separated again.

Day 3- I am thankful for church family. It was great to work with them today on our churches workday. We got a lot done and had fun too! (Though I know my arms will be sore tomorrow ☺)
**my arms were sore & was so tired I got a fever but after a good nights sleep I was good as new!**

Day 4- I am thankful for a God who is merciful and does not give us what we deserve.

Day 5- I am thankful for good godly music. ♪♫♫♪♫♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫

Day 6- I am thankful for food.
If you have ever stood in front of a fridge full of food & didn't know what to eat...we are blessed! Not everyone is blessed to have 3+ meals a day.

Day 7- I am thankful that God is still on his throne. One day he will return again and be the perfect and righteous ruler!

Day 8- Thankful for godly council, people who have run the race before me and share the lessons they learned. Women that take Titus 2 seriously.

Day 9- I am very thankful for my laptop!
It helped me connect with Patrick when he was miles away, ALL my school (including classes) have to done on here & most of my hobbies are on here...
Thank you Dad for your Christmas gift 3 years ago! ☺

Day 10- I am thankful for Saturdays at home. Sleep longer, do work, have fun, slow day, getting a lot done...yeah Saturdays are great! ☺

Day 11- for dinner on the grounds...they are sooo much fun!

Day 12- friends that you can turn to when you need them

Day 13- I am thankful for all my pets.
My wonderful dog Paxton that makes us laugh and walk him in a weather and my 4 birds. All of them have their personality and can be so silly and fun!

Day 14- I am thankful for the King James 1611 Bible - God's inspired Word to the World.

Day 15- I am thankful for running water in my house...
you know that's a real blessing and I definitely take that for granted! I'm glad I can shower every day and don't have to run to the outhouse.... ☺

Day 16- for yummy peanut butter cookies...fresh out of the oven. ☺♥

Day 17- people that love to sing with. People that love honoring the Lord with their voice.

Day 18- For a warm place to stay, a roof over my head, a bed to sleep on.

Day 19- Book Books Books. Though I am not to crazy about the books I have to read for classes I do enjoy reading. I have soooooooo many books that I waiting to read.

Day 20- A job. Its nothing big but gives me a little money in my pocket. A good thing with Christmas coming up....♥

Day 21- I am thankful for my family. Each of them has a special & different place in my heart. To each of them I can relate different, with each of them I can share a special part of my heart.

Thank you Mama, Oma, Uncle Mike, Dad & Loretta for being my family

Day 22- I am thankful for each and every one of you who follow my blog, visit me here and comment. I really enjoy "meeting" and getting to know new people! :)

Happy Thanksgiving my Friends

Knitted Fall Wear

I had worn this outfit along time ago and really loved the look. That day I didn't have time to take pictures. This time I did! :) It was kinda wet (drizzling) outside when these were taken. ☺

Ok...so I really love the look of some nail art and have tried and failed so many times. I saw the owl nail on this blog and thought I try my hand at it. It turned out difference but still nice. What do you think? Would you wear owl nails? Do you do nail art?

I {heart} Birdhouses

You might have figured, after reading the title of the blog, that I like birdhouses but today I thought I would show you I do. I have been meaning to show you my birdhouse collection but after chatting with one of you guys I finally went on a picture shoot. :D

I don't like getting dirty but I do love gardens. As long as I can remember I have always liked garden theme decoration but especially in my later teens I started seeing what I tended towards and started changing my childhood room into a more adult looking room, I wanted it to be blue and garden theme, especially BIRDHOUSES.

My birdhouses were either given me, I crafted or I would find a cheap birdhouse decoration and that is how I slowly collected these birdhouses. I really don't have any room anymore so I have not been getting more birdhouse decoration.

In the picture bellow are a variety of Birdhouse stuff. You can see two Bible covers I got and totally love. Especially the one in the right corner is my favorite (denim, birdhouses, garden & sunflower...can it get any better!)  The birdhouse picture frame I found and HAD to buy now sits on my nightstand. The "snow" globe was gifted to me by my step-mom last year and the cups were all gifted at to me. My very first birdhouse cup is the far right. Its still my favorite though I love all!

Bellow you see my two favorite birdhouse decoration. The birdhouse garland is so simple yet cute and the color blue is soooo beautiful. The Birdhouse-house on the left has a little story to it that I might share in the future. ☺ Lets just say I prayed that I could have it and 9 months later I got it as a farewell gift from the love of my life.

Do you like birdhouses? Is there anything you are crazy about/ collect?

Media Monday // One More Night with the Frogs♪♫

Last Friday I was reading my daily Bible reading and came across the verses in Exodus that tell us this funny incident about Pharaoh. I have heard the stories of Pharaoh and the 10 plagues many times but its after hearing this song did I notice how stupid Pharaoh was. Here are the verses and see for yourself:

Exodus 8:8- 10 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat the LORD, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto the LORD. And Moses said unto Pharaoh, Glory over me: when shall I intreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, to destroy the frogs from thee and thy houses, that they may remain in the river only? And he said, To morrow. And he said, Be it according to thy word: that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the LORD our God.

So Moses gave Pharaoh the choice on when he wanted to get rid of the frogs and Pharaoh said tomorrow??? Why not now?! I guess he wanted to spend one more night with the "stink'n" frogs.

And that is what this song is about.....

Friday's cookies and other fun stuff

Today you get a peak into our Friday. My Oma always brings "Brötchen" home for lunch but this time she brought some yummy yummy cake!!!

Look at this...

During lunch we like to sometimes watch a show on youtube.  This time we watched "A Lucy Show".

For dinner my mom and oma had Patrick try Fish out of a can. Here he is trying the different samples:

After dinner we played a game of Yahtzee. I won the first game. :)

When my Oma looked through the Yahtzee box she found 2 Yahtzee sheets I started a few years back. WOW! ☺

Since I am not a big game person I "wanted" to do some more school but my mom and Patrick talked me into making some peanut butter cookies. ☺ Patrick took a few pictures of me.

Here they are...fresh out of the oven. Don't they look gooooood!

Patrick thinks so! :D

Getting ready to go to our church Thanksgiving fest. We always invite alot of lost people. They come for the food and we (the Pastor) preaches to them first! :D

What are you up to this weekend? ☺
