Honeymoon || Last Day
On our last day we wanted to eat in a more fancy restaurant. I think we should looked around a little more because even though our hotel's restaurant was 3 stars & expensive it was not THAT classy....we were so dressed up but they (tried) to hide their smiles and served us well.

Honeymoon || Day Six
On our last full day in France we again stayed in Sisteron (saving energy for the 10+ hour ride home). This time though we went to tour INSIDE the Citadel! The entry fee was not much and they had so many signs & even these "talking boxes" that would tell you one or two radio drama type stories of the Citadel! Super cool!

Honeymoon || Day Five
The Lavender Museum was next. The Provence (area in Southern France) is known for it's lavender fields and so we knew we definitely wanted to do something with lavender. Sadly we came after the lavender was harvested but this museum was very interesting!

Honeymoon || Day Four
On our third dayin France we made our way to the famous town of Rousillon. It is known for it's red and orange dirt & stone which was used to build the town. But before we get there....some pictures of our trip there. The country is so beautiful!

Honeymoon Day || Three
On our second day in France we went to the Mediterranean sea. We knew we were wanting to go there for sure! I just wish I had figured out before....maybe asked around where a good place was because it sure was busy where we went! The water and beach was beautiful though!

Honeymoon || Day Two
Once we finally reached our hotel that night we were so exhausted. The guy there spoke no English...at least he did not let on but we got to hour room fine. It was simply furnished but clean....that is one thing I liked about it. This hotel was SUPER clean! My mom has worked in several hotels...and not every hotel puts effort into cleanliness.
Anyway. This was bit of an eventful and uneventful day. The plan was to check out the town we were staying in...Sisteron...and plan where we wanted to go for the rest of the week.
Sadly, as I finally logged into the wifi on my phone I read a very sad post.....Patrick's grandpa passed away. Wow! A day after we got married. Patrick's mother and sister were still in Germany and because of how their tickets were they were hoping to make it back in time for the funeral. Now the question came up will Patrick/we go the funeral. It was impossible though...that was SO hard for Patrick. He was VERY close to his grandfather. So on our first day on our honeymoon we cried together.
On a happier note....A peak into the hotel.

Honeymoon || Day One
So finally I am sharing my honeymoon pictures. Since we had our "engagement anniversary" last week it's a great a time as any to share my honeymoon pictures. Since the main days were filled with lots of site seeing I'll be posting each day as a separate post.
So here is to day one. After the photo shoot at the Castle we finally went to our hotel in Heidelberg. They already called us because we were late checking in! The place was really beautiful and really my style (the reason I chose it). I am serious....my future bedroom will have to look like this....just with blue bedding and pictures on the walls.

6 Month Anniversary Photography
Ever since Christmas I've been wanting to take some "professional" pictures but just didn't have time and it just was to cold. But in time for our 6 month anniversary it worked out....and the sun came out!! The sun inspires me to take pictures. And Pinterest gave me many ideas on poses.
Which is your favorite?

May I say I am proud of my little apartment? It's so cozy....that's the perfect word to describe my apartment under the roof...with all the wood.
And I must say that Christmas is my favorite holiday...the only holiday you can go all out with decorations....and that is what I did. Ok...not overwhelming but just touches of Christmas scattered throughout my little home.
Welcome to my little home...would like some tea, coffee or hot cocoa?

A Day Trip to France
Before the wedding we wanted to do some site-seeing with our American friends and family sooooo... we took a quick trip to France.
If you come to visit me a fun place to go visit is Wissemburg, France. It's about 1,5 hours south-west from where I live....a little French town just over the border. It is so cute, old and rustic and no worries....they'll be speaking French.
The trip there was exciting already.....the closer we came to France the older and quainter the houses & towns were....the way a tourist imagines Europe.
So finally there we were, happy to see that parking was free,....not in Germany.... you have to pay to go to the bathroom.
It was a relaxed but fun day looking at churches and houses built in the 1800s. In the afternoon we took a little trolly around the town. As you passed different houses and buildings they would tell you when it was built and what the history is. We all enjoyed it!
We ended the day in France with dinner.....Flammkuchen. It's really really good. When I was asked what it is I really could not explain it because saying it's like pizza just isn't right.... It's flammkuchen.
Have you had flammkuchen before?

A Trip Along the Necker // Travel
I'm playing "Catch-Up"..... Sooooooo much happened this summer and I DO want to keep it all documented here on the blog. Let me begin:
After I came back from the States I had about 3 weeks until friends and family from the States were coming to Germany for the wedding. Of course we wanted to show them some things and especially Patrick's friend and bestman stayed extra long to make his trip "worth while".
Our first trip was along the river here in Heidelberg. It was a very sunny day....and lets just say I got some color for my wedding the following week....hahahaha....thankfully it turned a nice brown after the red.
The boat ride was fun and relaxing and the hike to the castles was entertaining....espcially with these two guys. lol We even shot a short video which the bestman isn't willing to share with the world... We had a great time though.
If you are ever in Heidelberg.....I recommend doing the Four Castle boats ride along the Necker.
