Only Jesus Can // Free Printable

In one of my college classes I had to write down the this list of things that only Jesus can change. I liked it so much I had to share it with you and make it a printable.....something you can hang in your room or on the fridge and remember.....Jesus CAN change us & our circumstances around us.

Goals for 2014

Last year was my first year I actually had new year goals. It was a pretty detailed and long list....you can see how I did {here}.

This year I decided to go simpler since this year will be bringing a lot of change.

♥ Read a book every month ♥
This is a very doable goal. I will be finishing up two last books for school this month and I cannot wait to start reading the book I choose. I have a growing stack of books under my desk I have collected over the last two years. This goal should be no problem.

♥ Craft & Design ♥
This is open to designing things on the computer, creating cards or tutorials and sewing/ refashioning clothes. ☺ I believe I can do that!

♥ No social media past 11 o'clock ♥
I saw Samantha write about it and really like this idea. I wanted to do less social media and if I stick to this rule there will be less later nights where I quickly jump on pinterest.

♥ Work on relationships ♥
This is God and the people around me. College (& no job) has forced me to say no many times to people. I just. didn't. have. time. But after that I want to say yes more often and plan things with my family and friends around me. I want to leave people messages on FB more often, write more emails and....like Amber mentioned, write letters. Letters, not only to send via snail mail but write thank you notes and encouragements.

♥ Guest Posts ♥
This is a blogging goal. I really would like to work with bloggers and grow a community. Anyone interested? I want more guestposts on my blogs and I also want to write some guest posts on other blogs.

♥ Finish College ♥
Been working on this 4 years but the end is in sight. May 18th is GRADUATION! ☺ Florida, here I come!!!

♥ Ready for Changes ♥
I am planning and expecting many changes this year. One happened already as you can read here. Here is a list of changes I am planning on and some that look might happen. Finishing classes, student teaching, graduate, travel to US, get engaged, get married, move into a new apartment, start working....who knows what else might happen.

♥ Photo a Week ♥
This idea I took from Amber. I tried a photo challenge from Capture Your 365 but that was just to much. A photo a week....the is doable because I normally take more. Though I want to keep it simple I want to have a picture that sums up the week. If really nothing special happened a favorite picture of a flower will do. ☺

What are some things you have planned for this year?

The Lord Shall Fight For You // Journal Update

Some of you have been with me for a long time but many of you are new.

Quick Update: Patrick & I have been in a Long Distance Relationship 6/8 of our Courtship. He's been over a year here trying to get his foot into the door of getting a job in Germany. Many ideas, many resumes, two potential jobs....and here's the newest.

Patrick did not get his permit. Another twist in the road. It is something that we were not hoping to deal with but alas, here we are.
He got the letter yesterday
We don't know.
There are no answers - Only Questions

As I read the devotion of the day on She Reads Truth I was challenged to memorize this verse.

The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

He will find a way?
Me, have peace?
It is hard.
What  we hear from those around us are either "praying for you" or "you should have..."
I have been touched by the people truly praying.
I just wonder. What will happen next?
How will it happen?

Please continue to pray for open doors & guidance. It is a miracle that he is still here but we really need the Lord to come through.

Rain Drops on....♪♫

These pictures were taken before Christmas but raindrops just aren't very Christmasy.....while the US has been freezing and "enjoying" LOTS of snow the weather here in Germany has been pretty mild and rainy. So these pictures are right on.

I hope you are inspired to look for the little details in your pictures!

Free January Desktop Background

The Blue Birdhouse

The Blue Birdhouse

This year I want to share with you free desktop backgrounds for every month. You will always have a choice between a picture from my photography & something I designed. I know I am a little late for this month but after this I should be on time! I already designed them up to May today and will have them scheduled so even if life is busy on my end you know you'll have a new desktop background with a calendar to download.

Disclaimer: Designs are created by me with the use of the free elements from Far Far Hill

"Silvester" in Review

The new year is always celebrates with a big bang here in Germany...fireworks are awesome. With a few people from church we played games, ate and prayed in the new year. Afterwards we all went outside watched and did some fireworks and I had fun with my new camera, manual settings and moving sparklers. ☺

What did you do on new years eve?

Christmas in Review

Church Christmas

On Sunday the 22nd there was lots of special music from various people and groups....for most of them I played piano accompaniment. It was a lot of fun. Then we had lunch & after all the guests left we sat in a big circle and everyone shared one blessing or lesson the Lord gave them that year. Afterwards the gifts were handed out from our Christmas gift exchange.
Patrick got everything he had written as suggestions....and way more. He was SUPER happy!

Christmas at Work
I had a lot of fun decorating the tree for my mom's boss. She told me what she wanted and I went to work.

Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve was pretty traditional. We read the Christmas story and sang lots of Christmas song after we had our tummies full of yummy food.
Mary and Joseph finally made it to the stable and Mary gave birth to baby Jesus.
Lots of gifts were unwrapped.
oooo's and aaaaaaah's
And many hugs with big thank you's.

Christmas Day
Christmas day we celebrated with friends.
We played Apples to Apples. Who else loves that game?
We had raclette and homemade crepes....and just ate way to much!
I did hair and nails for pretty much all the ladies present. Nails I will be sharing on Feminine Modesty sooner or later. One of the hairstyles was Anna's updo from the movie Frozen. ☺

All in all....Christmas was EXTREMLY busy but was also loads of fun!
