Are you surprised even though you prayed for it?

A while back Patrick was reading his Bible when we started talking about that story when Peter was in prison and God got him out. The story is amazing!

Peter has been taken prisoner. There he is between two guards.... sleeping. Suddenly his chains on his arms fall off and the angel says for him to get up and walk out. When he came to the door it suddenly opened...and they didn't have automatic doors back then.☺

The story goes on to say that Peter went to the house he knew his friends and the church were at praying for him. Still confused and fearful he knocks at the door......

....The people were praying for him to be delivered. But when they heard the knock they did not believe Peter would be standing in front of the door. They did not believe he could be out of jail.

Were they praying but did not believe God could get Peter out?

Before we shake our heads at them lets look at our own prayer life. How many times have we prayed for something or someone but secretly we didn't believe God would come through. Oh yes, God "can do all things" but will he? Is he listening to my prayers? That is where faith ends. We don't believe God will come through. What are the odds of the situation? Maybe many.....

Let us look at this story and learn.... GOD CAN! Pray and have FAITH!

Chicken Wire Frame Tutorial

The frame before it was painted. Iris wanted me to paint this frame and put some chicken wire across the back. She wanted a new thing to hang pictures on. I can see me making several of these things because she has a lot of pictures. Just kidding.

Here is me painting the frame outside. Iris wanted it white. I had to put some things on the newspaper because of the wind. That is why you see the flower pot and the other gizmo.

A painting job well done. I think it looks good.

A good painting job ruined. Iris wanted the frame to look old. So she chipped some of the paint away like you see here. Oh well, what ever the boss wants.

Here is the chicken wire that was attached to the back. The staple gun was not able to shoot the staples all the way in. I had to take a small hammer and gently tap them in the rest of the way. My hand looks very red. That is weird.

As you can see from the last picture, the chicken wire was over lapping the frame. So here I am trimming the wire back.
Here is Iris's Rooster in his pen.

After I hung it on the wall, Iris put her pictures on it. This picture was taken in my moms house in the States.

More pictures

The complete finished product. Iris is so talented with her ideas. I would recommend this idea to anyone who want to try something new. This chicken wire frame would be great for family pictures and missionary prayer cards If you want to have some fun, take some chicken pictures and hang them up behind the wire. Now you have your own chicken coop in the house. Mom will just love this idea. I am only kidding about this idea.

What would you hang on it?

Goals 2013 // May

I have not done a Goal update in a long time. Reason? Well one, I think they are boring posts and two, I have been slacking....So here is a monthly roundup of my weekly goals and also my monthly goals

→Be more efficient with my time- I have been pretty busy....I try to schedule my time wisely to do my classes, activities & keep up with my reading.

→A glass of water every day**- This past month I have been slacking...but this past week I started getting better again

**I don't drink any soda or coffee and when I am not drinking water I drink at least 5 glasses of 1/3 apple juice diluted with 2/3 water .
→Play piano 4x a week- I do pretty good at practicing piano.

→Play violin once a week- Really really bad.....I don't think I played it one single time. :(

→Exercise 15 minutes- Ahem....no. Other than walking to church for 30 minutes or walking to the store.

→Pass out a tract-  Yes, not every week but I did.....even gave a tract to the people that picked up our garden furniture!

read a book every month- I just finished "Honey to a Child's Heart" for class. It is a great book I can recommend to any one-day-want-to-be mommy...or daddy. It gives so much insight on why books are important, how they affect growing up and which book to look for

create something once a month (digital, crafting, sewing)- Yes!! I created some washi tape cards*, worked on a frame* with chicken wire to hang pictures & gave my desk a popping facelift.*
* I will show all these to you soon! ☺

1 guest post/month- I really didn't know who I should ask....so no.

→1 vlog/ month- Yes! Have you seen it? It'll make you laugh big time!!

practice one song a month together- Yes, and we are wanting to sing it at our next Guest Sunday....June 23rd.

continue monthly date night -  Last night. We celebrated our 3 Year Anniversary which will be on Sunday June 2nd. ♥

What grade would you give me?
